Fujifilm X-A7 vs X-A2

The X-A7 leads on more headline specs, but the X-A2 counters on price and size.

The short version

The Fujifilm X-A7 and Fujifilm X-A2 are both Fujifilm X-A bodies. The X-A7 is the newer of the two, arriving in 2019. At launch the X-A7 was $699 and the X-A2 $549, making the X-A2 the more affordable of the two.

On paper the X-A7 is the stronger body of the two. It gives you 24.2 MP of resolution, 6 fps continuous shooting, and face/eye-detection AF, with a few smaller wins on top of that.

The X-A2 can't match those numbers. What it has going for it is a lower price, a smaller footprint, or just being the body you'd rather carry.

So which one? If you want 24.2 MP of resolution, get the X-A7. If the simpler, cheaper option is closer to what you actually need, the X-A2 is the smarter buy. And the X-A2 costs less — $549 at launch.
