Fujifilm X-E1 vs X100
The X-E1 leads on more headline specs, but the X100 counters on a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder.
The short version
The Fujifilm X-E1 and Fujifilm X100 are Fujifilm APS-C bodies from different lines — the X-E and the X100. The X-E1 is the newer of the two, arriving in 2012. At launch the X-E1 was $999 and the X100 $1,199, making the X-E1 the more affordable of the two.
On paper the X-E1 is the stronger body of the two. It gives you 16.3 MP of resolution, 6 fps continuous shooting, and 1080p/24p video, with a few smaller wins on top of that.
The X100 isn't far behind. It hits back with a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder.
So which one? If you want 16.3 MP of resolution, get the X-E1. If a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder is closer to what you actually need, the X100 is the smarter buy. And the X-E1 costs less — $999 at launch.
