Fujifilm X-Pro1 vs X100S

The X100S leads on more headline specs, but the X-Pro1 counters on price and size.

The short version

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 and Fujifilm X100S are Fujifilm APS-C bodies from different lines — the X-Pro and the X100. The X100S is the newer of the two, arriving in 2013. At launch the X-Pro1 was $1,699 and the X100S $1,299, making the X100S the more affordable of the two.

The X-Pro1 doesn't win any of the headline spec categories outright. Its case is price, size, and how it feels in your hand, not the numbers.

The X100S isn't far behind. It hits back with 1080p/60p video, a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder, and 330-shot battery life, with a couple more edges beyond that.

So which one? If you want the more capable all-rounder, get the X-Pro1. If 1080p/60p video is closer to what you actually need, the X100S is the smarter buy. And the X100S costs less — $1,299 at launch.

Where the X-Pro1 wins

No clear wins on the headline specs — its case is price, size, or feel.
