Fujifilm X-Pro1 vs X-E1

The X-E1 leads on more headline specs, but the X-Pro1 counters on a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder.

The short version

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 and Fujifilm X-E1 are Fujifilm APS-C bodies from different lines — the X-Pro and the X-E. Both launched in 2012. At launch the X-Pro1 was $1,699 and the X-E1 $999, making the X-E1 the more affordable of the two.

On paper the X-Pro1 is the stronger body of the two. It gives you a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder.

The X-E1 isn't far behind. It hits back with 350-shot battery life and a lighter 350 g body.

So which one? If you want a hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder, get the X-Pro1. If 350-shot battery life is closer to what you actually need, the X-E1 is the smarter buy. And the X-E1 costs less — $999 at launch.
